Terms of Service
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the File Convert Online website at file-convert.online and the file conversion services it provides (the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
The Service lets you convert files between supported formats. The list of supported formats and any usage limits (file size, daily conversions, simultaneous jobs) may change at any time. We make commercially reasonable efforts to keep the Service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
2. Accounts
Some features require an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) to create an account.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- upload content you do not own or have permission to convert;
- upload illegal content, malware, or content that infringes intellectual property rights;
- circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or paywalls;
- resell or redistribute the Service without our written permission;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules and may delete files we believe violate these rules without notice.
4. Your content
You retain all rights to files you upload. You grant us a limited licence to process those files for the sole purpose of performing the conversion you request and delivering the result to you. Uploaded files and converted outputs are automatically deleted within one hour, as described in our Privacy Policy.
5. Free and paid plans
The Service is offered in a free tier (with usage limits and advertising) and one or more paid plans. Plan features, prices, and limits are described on our Pricing page and may change at any time. We will give existing paying subscribers reasonable notice of price changes affecting their plan.
Paid plans renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Unless required by law, payments already made are non-refundable.
6. Third-party services
The Service integrates third parties (payment processors, analytics, advertising, sign-in providers). Your use of those features is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that conversion results will be lossless, error-free, or suitable for any particular use. Keep your originals.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with the Service. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) EUR 50. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or your violation of these Terms.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including ownership, disclaimers, and liability limits) will continue to apply.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
12. Governing law and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for disputes is the competent courts at the registered seat of the operator (see Imprint), to the extent permitted by mandatory consumer-protection law.
